Adrafinil is a nootropic substance discovered in 1974 by two French chemists. Adrafinil is used to promote alertness increase attention, reduce fatigue. Adrafinil was marketed in France under the trade name Olmifon until September 2011 when it was voluntarily discontinued by manufacturer.

Adrafinil is a prodrug for modafinil. That means in the body it is metabolized into modafinil resulting in very similar pharmacological effects

Adrafinil is prohibited for in-competition use by the World Anti-Doping Agency
